Desired_Qualifications : RK&K is seeking a Traffic Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in the areas of temporary traffic control design and operations, with a focus on the development of Transportation Management Plans (TMPs) and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans. This position, which will involve work on a wide range of projects from multi-billion dollar mega-projects to local roadway projects, has an excellent management potential. The engineer who fills this position will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a large team of experienced traffic and transportation engineers seekeing solutions to maintain the safety and mobility of the traveling public during periods of construction throughout the mid-Atlantic region. The ideal candidate is an individual who is highly proactive, takes initiative, has strong technical writing skills and has considerable experience dealing with work zones. Candidates should be proficient in the use of various traffic analysis tools and methods for evaluating maintenance of traffic phasing and detours, and should be able to demonstrate experience using the MUTCD, the Highway Capacity Manual and relevant AASHTO guidelines. Candidates should also be proficient in the development of maintenance of traffic and traffic control plans, with strong skills in MicroStation.
Preferred Skills: Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification and work zone safety training experience desired, but not required.
